We would like to invite you to participate in the Social Science and Humanities Project Proposal Writing and Evaluation Applied Workshop we are organizing on the dates September 8-10, 2014 at Bilkent University, for which the program and application details are provided.
The program includes experience-sharing seminars led by experienced researchers and breakout groups that will allow hands-on project/proposal writing and evaluation simulations to be carried out. The aim of this training workshop is twofold. Firstly the program aims to enhance the awareness of all researchers regarding the research funding opportunities available to social sciences and humanities, especially through the Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkey (TÜBİTAK). Secondly, and more specifically, the program aims to contribute to the grant writing skills of especially young researchers like you.
The program has two main building blocks. In the first part of the program basic grant preparation and writing training will be provided. Participants will be asked to work on their individual project proposals during the interim sessions of these seminars. This experience-sharing and lecture based block will be followed up by a simulation of project evaluation sessions, allowing participants to become evaluators as well as have their project proposals be evaluated. These breakout sessions will ensure a hands-on experience for all researchers. Each researcher is expected to have a draft project proposal that they could work on to submit for the 1001, 1002, 3001 or 3501 funding programs of the Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkey (TÜBİTAK).
This program is funded by the 2237 Funding Program of the Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkey (TÜBİTAK).
The workshop is open to all social science and humanities researchers who have completed their PhD or have completed their PhD qualifiers. If you are interested in participating in the workshop please send a copy of your CV and a 3-paragraph draft of a possible grant proposal topic you would like to further work on during the workshop by e-mailing us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
The details of the application procedure and the workshop program can be found on our web page.
We look forward to meeting with you for a very productive workshop!
